The Knoxville DVD Movie Group is very similar to a book club for movies. The group chooses a movie. We all watch at our own convenience in our own home. We try to ensure that titles are available through Netflix, and some titles are even available at the Knox County Public Library. We meet on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm. We meet at McAlister's Deli on Morrell Rd (shopping center next to West Town Mall), and we discuss the movie.
Discussions are not technical. We will glady hear your opinions on cinematography or sound mixing, but most discussions are plot driven. So if you don't know the difference between Judd Apatow and Stanley Kubrick, your opinion is still valid and welcome.
Discussions are informal over a meal or iced tea. They rarely last more than about 45 minutes, with another 15 devoted to what you want to see in theaters now and what will happen next month. Come have a hoagie and participate in a lively discussion about a movie that speaks to you.
